Adventure Academy is for dogs who have trained with BAMK9 and been approved by their trainer. If you're new to BAMK9, start with Foundations, and once your dog is ready, the pack is waiting.
It's a full day. Pickups typically start around 8:30 am, and drop-offs start around 4:30 pm.
Tuesdays and Thursdays. You choose one, and your dog keeps that day each week they attend, so we can build the best possible group of dogs.
Pickup and drop-off anywhere in Long Beach is included. If you're outside Long Beach, reach out and we can talk about a travel fee.
No more than 4 dogs. We build each group around the dogs in it, so every dog gets a great day.
After pickup, the pack heads out for a 2–3 mile hike or trail walk, takes a rest break in the van, then goes on an urban outing to places like patios, coffee shops, breweries, and busy parks to practice settling. The day wraps up with obedience and exercise before drop-off.
Yes. Photos and videos are posted to our Instagram, @bamk9_lbc, throughout the day. If you'd like a photo or video sent directly to you, just ask.
The same tools they trained with. If your dog trained with us on a prong collar or e-collar, we'll use those. Otherwise, every dog uses a slip lead.
We go out rain or shine, and the weather shapes the day. In the heat, we exercise early and do more urban enrichment and practice. In the rain, it's a free-for-all, and one of the best times to practice skills.
Your dog needs to be at least 6 months old, fully vaccinated, and on flea and tick medication, and must have trained with BAMK9 and been approved by their trainer.
Adventure Academy is month-to-month with automatic monthly payments: $450 a month for 2 outings, or $775 a month for 4. We need 30 days' notice to cancel.
Missed or skipped outings don't roll over. If you plan ahead, a one-off makeup can sometimes be scheduled with your trainer, but we don't recommend it, since groups are built specifically and a spot isn't guaranteed.
