Is this for you?

A professional start. Then it's yours.

Board & Train is for you if...

  • Off-leash freedom is the goal, and you want the most effective way there
  • You want a professional to train your dog first, then teach you how to keep it up
  • You want to learn alongside your dog, not just pick up a "fixed" dog
  • Your dog is at least 8 months old and fully vaccinated

Foundations might be better if...

  • You want to do all the training yourself, with coaching along the way
  • You're happy to take the longer path: Foundations first, then Off-Leash

Dog has aggression or a bite history? Book a call first, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Where your dog lives

One dog. One trainer. Everywhere he goes.

Your dog lives with Jordan in his mobile live-in training center: the van. We only take one Board & Train dog a month, so your dog gets Jordan's full attention and goes everywhere with him, as if they were his own.

  • Sleeps in a Ruff Land kennel inside the van, right alongside Jordan
  • Joins Adventure Academy outings with the pack
  • Comes along everywhere Jordan goes around Long Beach
The training

Training that never really stops.

01

3+ sessions a day

At least three personalized training sessions every day, built around your dog and your goals.

02

All-day manners

Between sessions, your dog learns how to behave in all kinds of settings, all day long.

03

Real places

Parks, patios, trails, and busy streets, so the skills hold up wherever you take them.

04

The right tools

Some dogs use a prong collar along the way, and dogs working toward off leash are trained on an e-collar.

The goal

The Core 4, off leash, anywhere.

Our goal is for your dog to be proficient in the Core 4 off leash, in all kinds of environments.

  • Place: where should you be?
  • Down: can you stay here?
  • Heel: can you move with me?
  • Recall: can you come back to me?

Every dog responds to training differently, so goals are adjusted to suit your dog. We'll keep you in the loop on how your dog is progressing and give you an honest picture of where the goals stand.

While they're away

You'll never wonder how they're doing.

Board & Train FAQ

Questions, answered.

Board & Train is a minimum of 4 weeks. Some dogs benefit from a longer program, which Jordan recommends case by case based on your dog and your goals.

Your dog lives with Jordan in his van, our mobile live-in training center, and sleeps in a Ruff Land kennel inside the van with him. Your dog goes everywhere Jordan goes, as if they were his own, including Adventure Academy outings around Long Beach.

Just one Board & Train dog per month, so your dog gets Jordan's full attention. Because spots are limited, we recommend applying early.

Our goal is for your dog to be proficient in the Core 4 (Place, Down, Heel, and Recall) off leash, in all kinds of environments. Every dog responds to training differently, so goals are adjusted to suit your dog, and we'll keep you updated on their progress and where the goals stand.

Some dogs use a prong collar along the way. Since off-leash freedom is the goal of our Board & Trains, dogs working toward off leash are trained on an e-collar. You'll learn how to use every tool your dog uses through your Skool course and handoff sessions.

You'll get photos and videos every week, and Jordan posts on Instagram at @bamk9_lbc for more frequent updates. If you'd like an update, message Jordan in Skool and he'll get you whatever you need. We ask that you keep messages within business hours.

Yes. While your dog is in training, you'll have access to a Skool course that walks you through everything your dog is learning, so you're ready to keep it going when they come home.

You'll have two handoff sessions with Jordan, and you can keep asking questions and sending videos to our trainers in Skool long after. You'll also have free access to our weekly Community Class and our Skool community, and if your dog graduates with off-leash skills, free weekly Off-Leash Lab for life.

Your dog needs to be at least 8 months old and fully vaccinated. If your dog has aggression or a bite history, book a call first, and we'll let you know honestly whether we can help.

Board & Train starts at $4,500 for 4 weeks. A deposit of half the program price locks in your start date, and the balance is due before training begins. You can pay over time with Affirm. All payments are non-refundable.

In Board & Train, a professional trains your dog first, then teaches you how to keep it up. It's the most effective path to off leash. In Foundations, you do the training yourself with coaching along the way, and reaching off leash usually takes longer, going from Foundations into Off-Leash.

Dogs are living beings, so no honest trainer can guarantee perfection. What we can promise is our full attention, honest updates on your dog's progress, and a dog who comes home with better behavior and stronger skills.
